Senior Legal Manager

About the Role
We're looking for a Senior Legal Manager who can go beyond flagging risk — someone who explains the "how risky," the business impact, and the practical way forward. You'll lead legal strategy across corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters while working hand-in-hand with the business.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic legal advice to management and business teams on day-to-day business activities, transactions, and corporate matters
- Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and business risks across the company's operations
- Review, draft, and negotiate various agreements, contracts, and legal documents to protect the company's interests
- Develop and maintain legal policies, procedures, and internal guidelines in line with applicable laws and regulations
- Handle and advise on legal disputes, claims, regulatory matters, and potential litigation
- Conduct legal reviews and risk assessments for new business initiatives, partnerships, products, and commercial arrangements
- Monitor changes in applicable laws and regulations and provide recommendations on their potential impact on the business
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure business decisions are legally sound while remaining commercially practical
- Manage relationships with external counsel, notaries, government authorities, and other relevant legal parties when required
- Oversee and provide guidance to the legal team, ensuring timely and high-quality legal support to the business
- Support management in developing risk mitigation strategies and making informed business decisions from a legal perspective
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Law from a reputable university; professional legal qualification is a plus
- 10–15 years of relevant legal experience, preferably with experience in-house and/or at a reputable law firm
- Previous experience as a lawyer or in a law firm is highly preferred, particularly in commercial/corporate legal matters
- Strong understanding of legal risk identification, assessment, and mitigation
- Proven experience in contract drafting, review, negotiation, and commercial agreements
- Strong knowledge of corporate, commercial, regulatory, and general business law
- Experience handling legal disputes, regulatory matters, and/or litigation is a strong advantage
- Strong business acumen with the ability to balance legal protection and commercial objectives
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Able to independently assess situations, identify potential risks, and provide practical and actionable legal recommendations
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple matters and stakeholders simultaneously
- Experience managing or mentoring a legal team is preferred
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
