The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Roaster to take ownership of our roasting operations and play a key role in shaping the quality and profile of our coffee offerings. This is a strategic role for someone passionate about coffee, with strong technical expertise and the ability to drive both product excellence and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage end-to-end roasting operations to ensure consistent product quality and on-time delivery
- Develop, refine, and standardize roast profiles aligned with brand and customer requirements
- Drive quality control through cupping, sensory evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with commercial teams on product development, custom blends, and customer solutions
- Oversee green bean inventory planning, storage, and cost efficiency
- Optimize production processes to improve yield, efficiency, and cost control
- Lead, train, and mentor the roasting and production team
- Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and operational standards
What We Are Looking For
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on coffee roasting experience, ideally within specialty or commercial production
- Strong technical mastery of roasting profiles, coffee characteristics, and sensory evaluation
- Proven experience operating roasting equipment (e.g. Probat, Diedrich, or equivalent)
- Solid understanding of green coffee sourcing, handling, and inventory management
- Leadership capability with experience managing and developing teams
- Strong attention to detail, discipline, and commitment to quality
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced production environment
Preferred Qualifications
- SCA certification and/or Q Grader
- Experience in product innovation and blend development
- Exposure to hospitality or food service coffee segments
