Job Title: Seaweed Lab Research Assistant
Department: Field Seaweed R&D
PT. Sea Six Energy Indonesia
Location: Lombok Indonesia
Qualifications & Desired Skills / Qualities:
• Bachelor’s Degree with 1-3 years of field or lab-based research experience in the field of Marine Sciences / Aquaculture / Ecology / Fisheries
• Strong background in the marine sciences and marine biology
• Experienced in the scientific method, research methodologies, experimental design and statistics
• Familiarity with tropical marine ecology, seaweed biology, marine biofouling or invasives is highly desirable
• Passion for innovation, detail-oriented, eagerness to tackle challenges
• Thorough awareness of the assumptions and errors in their research
• Efficient at managing time & accomplishing research tasks
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to live in remote rural settings
• Good communication skills in English
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual lab work
• Flexible timings depending on research schedule
Responsibilities:
Research and Analysis:
• Be part of a team that conducts in-depth research on seaweed farming ecology
• Use a mixed approach to answer questions pertaining to seaweed cultivar health and growth in lab-scale experiments
• Fine tune experimental design and implementation to achieve targets
• Analyze experiment data, ensuring quick turnaround of research projects
• Stay abreast of the latest developments and trends in related fields
Collaboration and Communication:
• Work closely with other departments to achieve company goals
• Communicate research findings through reports, presentations, and regular team meetings
