Sekolah Kanaan is seeking a dedicated and passionate Science Teacher to join our secondary education team in Tangerang, Banten. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in shaping the scientific knowledge and critical thinking skills of our students. As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and comprehensive science education that inspires students to explore the natural world and develop a deep understanding of scientific principles. This position is integral to our mission of providing quality education that nurtures academic excellence and character development.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biology or a related discipline
- Minimum of 2 years' experience teaching science at secondary level
- Strong knowledge of science curricula and teaching methodologies appropriate for secondary students
- Demonstrated ability to design and conduct safe and effective laboratory experiments
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to explain complex concepts clearly
- Proficiency in English; Indonesian language skills are highly desirable
- Ability to use technology and digital tools effectively in teaching and learning
- Strong organisational and time management skills
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging science lessons that align with the school curriculum and educational standards
- Create a stimulating classroom environment that encourages student participation, inquiry-based learning and scientific thinking
- Prepare and conduct practical laboratory experiments and demonstrations to support theoretical learning
- Assess student progress through a variety of methods including tests, assignments, projects and practical work
- Provide constructive feedback to students and maintain detailed records of their academic performance
- Supervise and maintain laboratory equipment and ensure safety protocols are followed at all times
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement integrated learning programmes across disciplines
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and development
- Participate in school activities, events and professional development programmes
- Foster an inclusive learning environment that respects diversity and supports all students in achieving their potential
