A Sales Manager in the hospitality industry is responsible for driving revenue growth by developing strategic sales plans, managing client relationships, and leading the sales team to achieve business objectives. This role involves securing bookings for hotels, resorts, event venues, or restaurants through corporate accounts, group events, weddings, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions). The position requires strong leadership, negotiation, and analytical skills to maximize occupancy and profitability.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement annual sales strategies, budgets, and forecasts.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across corporate, leisure, and group segments.
- Negotiate contracts, rates, and terms to secure high-value bookings.
- Manage RFP (Request for Proposal) responses and tender processes.
- Lead, mentor and coach the sales team to achieve individual and team targets.
- Conduct regular performance reviews training and goal-setting.
- Allocate accounts and territories among team members.
- Maintain relationships with key accounts, travel agents and event planners.
- Upsell and cross-sell hotel services to increase revenue per guest.
- Handle client complaints and resolve issues professionally.
- Monitor competitor activities, industry trends and market demand.
- Analyze sales data using CRM and analytics tools.
- Provide recommendations for pricing and promotional strategies.
- Attend trade shows, networking events and FAM (Familiarization) trips.
- Represent the property at client meetings and industry conferences.
- Build partnerships with local businesses and tourism boards.
- Track KPIs such as RevPAR, occupancy rate and booking volume.
- Prepare weekly/monthly sales reports for senior management.
- Forecast revenue and pipeline visibility.
