We are seeking an experienced Political & Institutional Expert to provide political economy and institutional analysis in support of national geospatial governance and climate action initiatives. The successful candidate will play a key role in assessing the country's political and institutional landscape, supporting the adoption of the Integrated Geospatial Information Framework (IGIF), and developing strategic policy recommendations using the Political, Economic, Social, and Technological (PEST) framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct political economy and institutional analysis to support geospatial governance and climate action initiatives.
- Assess political, institutional, and regulatory environments using the PEST framework.
- Analyze political stability, institutional capacity, governance structures, and stakeholder dynamics relevant to project implementation.
- Identify political risks, opportunities, and mitigation strategies affecting project delivery.
- Support the development of national geospatial ecosystem strategies and institutional reform recommendations.
- Facilitate stakeholder consultations, engagement activities, and consensus-building processes with government and relevant institutions.
- Prepare high-quality analytical reports, policy briefs, strategic recommendations, and other technical documentation.
- Provide expert advice on political and institutional factors influencing the implementation of the Integrated Geospatial Information Framework (IGIF).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (S1) or equivalent in Political Science, Public Policy, International Relations, Public Administration, Governance, or other related disciplines.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in political analysis, political economy, governance, institutional development, or studies related to the political conditions of a particular country.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting political and institutional assessments for government, development, or international projects.
- Strong understanding of public policy, governance systems, regulatory frameworks, and institutional arrangements.
- Experience applying analytical frameworks such as PEST in strategic planning or policy analysis is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical, research, report writing, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills in multidisciplinary and multi-stakeholder environments.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on geospatial information management, digital governance, climate action, environmental policy, or sustainable development projects.
- Familiarity with the United Nations Integrated Geospatial Information Framework (IGIF) or similar international governance frameworks is an advantage.
- Experience collaborating with government agencies, international organizations, or donor-funded projects is preferred.
