We’re looking for a creative and driven R&D Pastry Chef to join Surabe Group — someone with a strong culinary foundation, a passion for innovation, and the ability to translate market trends into remarkable dishes. This role involves developing both savory and pastry items tailored to our brand vision and customer needs.
Job Description & Responsibilities :
- Develop new menu items that align with target market preferences and brand identity.
- Innovate using raw materials to craft high-quality, creative products across both savory and pastry categories.
- Conduct research on current local and international food & beverage trends to inspire product development.
- Analyze new recipes based on taste, texture, presentation, and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams during product development, testing, and launch phases.
- Ensure all products meet internal standards for quality, safety, and operational efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Diploma (D3) in Culinary Arts or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a chef specializing in Western cuisine, with proven skills in both savory and pastry (experience in an R&D setting is a strong plus).
- Demonstrated creativity in developing new dishes that reflect user preferences and market trends.
- Deep understanding of Western ingredients, including baking and pastry fundamentals, and the ability to handle them with precision.
- Passion for culinary exploration, with a keen interest in both local and global food movements.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate recipes based on sensory appeal and cost viability.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills; able to collaborate across departments.
- Strong project management abilities, including the capability to lead products from concept to launch.
- Familiarity with kitchen operations, inventory systems, and pastry production workflows.
