Job Description
Responsible for operating, maintaining, configuring, troubleshooting, and securing cybersecurity systems in a maritime environment to ensure system security, reliability, and availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of cybersecurity systems.
- Manage Firewall, IDS/IPS, NDR, SIEM, EDR, VPN, Security Gateway, and other security solutions.
- Perform system hardening, patching, firmware/software updates, and security signature updates.
- Manage firewall policies, security rules, access controls, and detection rules.
- Monitor logs, alerts, security events, and network traffic to identify potential threats.
- Conduct vulnerability assessment, security assessment, and security testing.
- Support incident investigation, security alert handling, and troubleshooting.
- Maintain configuration backup, recovery, technical documentation, and security reports.
- Support security audits, compliance activities, and periodic security assessments.
- Coordinate with IT, Network, Security Operations, vendors, and vessel operators.
- Follow applicable security, safety, and vessel access procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related fields.
- 2–5 years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, system engineering, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLAN, VPN, firewall, and network segmentation.
- Hands-on experience with cybersecurity system installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Firewall, IDS/IPS, SIEM, EDR/NDR, VPN, Vulnerability Scanner, and security monitoring solutions.
- Proficient in Linux and Windows Server administration.
- Understanding of system hardening, vulnerability management, patch management, log management, and incident response.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills.
- Willing to work on-site and onboard vessels as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Red Team, Penetration Testing, Vulnerability Assessment, or Security Assessment.
- Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK and adversary simulation.
- Experience with tools such as Nmap, Wireshark, Burp Suite, Nessus/OpenVAS, or Metasploit.
- Cybersecurity/network certifications such as Security+, CEH, CySA+, OSCP, CISSP, CCNA/CCNP.
- Experience in maritime, critical infrastructure, OT/ICS, defense, or military environments.
- Scripting knowledge in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
