R&D Specialist

PT AQS Group Indonesia is looking for an R&D Specialist to join our Operations Department. This role is responsible for developing new coconut charcoal briquette products, conducting laboratory and production trials, analyzing product performance, and supporting continuous product and process improvements through scientific research and experimentation.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop new coconut charcoal briquette products based on business and market requirements.

2. Develop and improve product formulations by testing raw material compositions, binders, additives, and production parameters.

3. Prepare structured R&D trial plans using scientific methods, including objectives, hypotheses, variables, control samples, and expected outcomes.

4. Conduct laboratory and production trials to evaluate product performance before implementation.

5. Analyze testing results and provide recommendations for product and process improvements.

6. Evaluate raw materials and supporting materials to ensure product quality and consistency.

7. Maintain complete R&D documentation, including sample traceability, formulas, test results, and conclusions.

8. Collaborate with Production, Quality Control, Warehouse, and other related departments during product development activities.

9. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, productivity, and cost optimization.

10. Ensure all laboratory and R&D activities comply with company regulations, 5S, and workplace safety standards.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Food Technology, Material Science, Industrial Engineering, Agricultural Product Technology, Forestry/Wood Science, or other related scientific fields.

2. Minimum 2–3 years of experience in Research & Development, Product Development, Laboratory, Chemical Analysis, Formulation, or Manufacturing Trials.

3. Experience in laboratory testing, product formulation, or manufacturing R&D is highly preferred.

4. Strong understanding of:

5. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

6. Able to perform data analysis, controlled trial documentation, sample traceability, and technical reporting.

7. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail.

8. Good communication skills and able to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

9. Willing to work in both laboratory and production environments.
