R&D Product Developer (Fashion Apparel)
To drive end-to-end product development by translating market trends and brand direction into commercially viable designs while ensuring cost efficiency, vendor coordination, and timely delivery.
Key Accountabilities
1.Product Development, Brand Analysis & Innovation
- Design seasonal style collections across all product categories
- Lead sample development, including prints, embroidery, and washes
- Conduct brand analysis and seasonal trend research to guide product direction
- Perform trim research and support product innovation
2. Costing, Vendor & Planning Management
- Review garment price quotations and ensure cost competitiveness
- Coordinate with vendors on product feasibility and development
- Plan and allocate sampling capacity to meet timelines
3. Documentation, Presentation & Control
- Prepare design worksheets, technical artwork, and presentations
- Set up showrooms for seasonal collections
- Maintain and update sample records and development documentation
Role Requirement
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile, or related field
- Minimum 5–6 years experience in R&D / Product Development (garment industry)
- Sufficient knowledge of fabrics, trims, garment construction, and washes
- Proficient in design tools/program. Knowledge in 3D Clo will be an advantage.
- Experience in sample development and vendor coordination.
- Good understanding of costing and price analysis.
- Strong creativity, trend awareness, and communication skills
