Quality Incoming
Summary
The Quality Incoming is responsible for ensuring that all incoming raw materials, packaging materials, and supporting materials meet company quality standards and specifications before being released for production use. Success in this role is demonstrated through accurate inspections, timely material disposition, effective supplier quality monitoring, and maintaining compliance with food safety and quality management systems. This position works closely with Purchasing, Warehouse, Production, and Quality Assurance teams to support overall product quality and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
Perform incoming inspections on raw materials, packaging materials, and supporting materials according to established specifications and procedures.
Verify supplier documentation, including Certificates of Analysis (COA), specifications, and related quality records.
Conduct sampling and testing activities based on approved quality standards and inspection plans.
Identify, document, and report non-conforming materials and coordinate disposition activities with relevant departments.
Maintain accurate inspection records and ensure all quality documentation is properly filed and updated.
Monitor supplier performance related to incoming material quality and support supplier evaluation activities.
Coordinate with Purchasing and Warehouse teams regarding material acceptance, rejection, or conditional release decisions.
Support investigations related to material quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, food safety requirements, and company quality management systems.
Participate in internal audits, external audits, and continuous improvement initiatives related to incoming quality control.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Food Technology or a related field.
Minimum 1–2 years of experience in Incoming Quality Control, Quality Assurance, or Quality Control, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.
Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, or other food safety management systems is preferred.
Understanding of sampling techniques, inspection methods, and quality control principles.
Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and Certificates of Analysis (COA).
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
