QA Tester — Web-App, Marketplace Flow & Payment Testing

About the Project

We are building a web-based marketplace platform for construction project bidding, contractor selection, payment tracking, and admin approval. We need a QA Tester to test before pilot launch.

This role is suitable for a part-time QA, junior QA, or intern, as long as the person is detail-oriented, structured, and able to follow test scenarios carefully.

Responsibilities

1. Test customer web-app, contractor portal, and admin dashboard.
2. Create and execute test cases based on product requirements.
3. Test registration, login, role-based access, project posting, contractor verification, bid submission, bid comparison, contractor selection, payment status, payout approval, and cancellation/dispute status.
4. Test different user roles: customer, contractor, admin, and finance/admin.
5. Test payment gateway scenarios in sandbox mode.
6. Test successful payment, failed payment, expired payment, duplicate webhook, refund request, payout approval, and cancellation cases.
7. Report bugs clearly with screenshots, screen recordings, steps to reproduce, expected result, and actual result.
8. Retest fixed bugs.
9. Run regression testing before release.
10. Work with Project Manager, backend developer, frontend developer, and UI/UX designer.
11. Help ensure the system is stable before pilot launch.

Must-Have Requirements

1. Detail-oriented and organized.
2. Able to follow testing instructions carefully.
3. Able to write clear bug reports.
4. Basic understanding of web applications.
5. Comfortable testing websites and dashboards on desktop and mobile browser.
6. Good communication skills.
7. Willing to repeatedly test the same flow after fixes.
8. Able to use Google Sheets, Notion, Trello, Jira, ClickUp, Linear, or similar tools.

Nice-to-Have Requirements

1. Previous QA or software testing experience.
2. Experience testing marketplace, fintech, e-commerce, payment, procurement, or booking platforms.
3. Experience with API testing using Postman.
4. Experience testing role-based systems.
5. Experience testing payment gateway sandbox.
6. Basic understanding of regression testing.
7. Experience creating test cases from user stories.
