Purchasing Specialist – Automotive Coatings
Location: Jakarta, Indonesia
Reporting to: CEO
Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Sourcing Specialist to join our affiliate company specializing in automotive paints and coatings. The ideal candidate will have strong supplier networks in the automotive coatings industry, proven sourcing experience, and fluency in both English and Bahasa Indonesia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers for raw materials, chemicals, pigments, solvents, packaging, and other indirect materials related to automotive coatings.
- Manage end-to-end sourcing process including RFQ, negotiation, contract management, and supplier performance evaluation.
- Maintain and expand a reliable supplier base in Indonesia and across the region.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (R&D, production, quality) to understand material requirements and ensure supply continuity.
- Monitor market trends, pricing, and supply risks; provide regular reports and recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical sourcing standards, and local regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of sourcing/procurement experience in the automotive coatings, paint, chemical, or related manufacturing industry.
- Proven track record of established supplier relationships and sourcing capabilities in the coatings sector.
- Fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesia (both written and spoken).
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
Preferred (plus):
- Experience in multinational companies or joint ventures.
- Knowledge of local Indonesian suppliers and logistics.
