The Procurement Specialist & Assistant (Purchaser) will be responsible for sourcing and acquiring goods and services from suppliers, managing procurement processes, and maintaining effective communication with vendors. Key responsibilities include identifying and evaluating potential suppliers, negotiating contracts, monitoring market trends, and ensuring timely delivery of materials. The role also involves coordinating with internal departments to understand procurement needs, preparing purchase orders, and maintaining accurate records of all procurement activities. Additionally, the individual will support the development of long-term supplier relationships and contribute to cost-saving initiatives within the procurement function.
Candidates must hold an Associate Degree or equivalent qualification and have between 1 and 3 years of relevant experience in procurement or purchasing. Proficiency in industrial purchasing, vendor management, material purchasing, and procurement processes is essential. Experience in supplier management, commodity purchasing, supplier development, and procurement management will be considered an advantage. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently are also important.
