Product Development Specialist (Perfumery & Personal Care)
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end product development process from concept creation to product launch, ensuring alignment with brand strategy, business objectives, and market trends.
- Conduct market research, consumer insights, and competitor analysis to identify product innovation opportunities and emerging trends.
- Develop product concepts, including product positioning, fragrance direction, hero ingredients, packaging, and key selling propositions.
- Collaborate with fragrance houses, manufacturers, and cross-functional teams (Marketing, Design, Sales, Procurement, Regulatory, and Operations) to ensure successful product development and launch.
- Evaluate product samples, oversee stability testing, and conduct internal product evaluations to ensure product quality, safety, and consumer acceptance.
- Prepare manufacturer briefs, product specifications, packaging requirements, and ensure compliance with BPOM, Halal, and other applicable regulations.
- Manage product development timelines, coordinate with vendors and suppliers, and monitor project progress to ensure timely execution.
- Estimate and control Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) to support target margins and pricing strategies.
- Review product claims, product information, marketing materials, and e-commerce content to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor post-launch product performance, consumer feedback, and market trends to recommend product improvements and future innovations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Product Development, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Product Development, Product Innovation, or a related role within the perfumery, personal care, or FMCG industry.
- Experience working with fragrance houses, OEM/ODM manufacturers, or cosmetic manufacturers is preferred.
- Strong understanding of product development processes, fragrance trends, packaging development, and product lifecycle management.
- Knowledge of BPOM regulations, Halal certification, and cosmetic compliance is an advantage.
- Strong project management, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
- Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and English, both written and spoken.
- Passionate about beauty, perfumery, personal care products, and emerging consumer trends.
