Product Buyer – Commercial & Inventory
About the Role:
Padeltop is looking for a Product Buyer who can make fast, commercial, and data-informed buying decisions in a dynamic sports retail environment.
This is not an administrative purchasing role.
We are not looking for someone who only executes Purchase Orders. We are looking for someone who can understand product demand, read stock movement, communicate with suppliers, and make buying decisions based on real business conditions.
You will work closely with suppliers, internal systems, and management to ensure the right products are purchased at the right time, in the right quantity, and at the right price.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute product buying decisions based on sales, stock, margin, and market demand
- Monitor supplier updates and respond quickly to new product opportunities
- Analyze product performance: fast-moving, slow-moving, overstock, and stock aging
- Recommend actions such as restock, stop buying, promotion, markdown, or stock reallocation
- Monitor competitor pricing, marketplace movement, and product trends
- Communicate and negotiate with suppliers clearly and confidently
- Ensure purchasing data and product actions are properly recorded in internal systems
- Work with management to align buying decisions with sales targets, inventory health, and cash flow
We are looking for:
- Fast in decision-making and not overly dependent on perfect data
- Strong in commercial awareness: understands product demand, pricing, timing, and market behavior
- Comfortable working with numbers and basic data analysis
- Proactive and responsive, without waiting to be told what to do
- Able to take ownership of buying decisions and outcomes
- Communicative and confident when dealing with suppliers
- Practical, action-oriented, and able to turn data into decisions
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Management, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Economics, or related fields
- Experience in retail, e-commerce, product buying, merchandising, distribution, or supplier handling
- Comfortable reading sales trend, margin, stock cover, ADS, inventory movement, and sell-through
- Familiar with marketplace dynamics such as Tokopedia, Shopee, pricing, competitor movement, and promotion mechanics
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced and high-ownership environment
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in retail, e-commerce, product buying, merchandising, or supplier handling
- Experience handling product categories, brands, or suppliers
- Experience in sport retail, padel, lifestyle products, or consumer goods
- Familiar with marketplace campaigns, pricing behavior, and product demand trends
- Padel player or sports enthusiast is a strong advantage

This role is not for someone who only wants to process PO or wait for instructions.
We are looking for someone who can think, decide, and act based on real business conditions.
