Job Summary
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process for both raw materials and production consumables to ensure timely material availability that supports uninterrupted manufacturing operations. This role covers purchasing execution, supplier sourcing and management, order fulfillment, delivery monitoring, cost optimization, and cross-functional coordination with Production, Planning, Warehouse, Quality, and Finance teams. The position also plays a key role in maintaining supplier performance, ensuring procurement compliance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to achieve operational efficiency and supply chain excellence.
Raw Materials
- Manage end-to-end procurement activities for production raw materials based on production plans and MRP requirements.
- Issue purchase orders, obtain supplier confirmations, and monitor supplier production and shipment progress to ensure on-time material availability.
- Expedite urgent or delayed material deliveries and coordinate recovery plans to minimize production interruptions.
- Maintain regular communication with suppliers regarding order status, delivery schedules, and material availability.
- Coordinate with Warehouse and Quality teams for incoming material inspection, IQC follow-up, and resolution of non-conforming materials, including returns and replacements.
- Monitor material shortages, update procurement tracking records, and maintain accurate purchasing data in the ERP system.
- Support purchase order reconciliation, invoice verification, supplier payment processes, and month-end procurement activities.
- Collaborate closely with Production Planning, Warehouse, Inventory Control, and Quality teams to ensure continuous raw material availability.
Consumables
- Manage end-to-end procurement activities for production consumables, including pallets, air cushion films, edge protectors, packaging materials, and other production support items.
- Source, evaluate, develop, and maintain supplier relationships to ensure competitive pricing, reliable delivery, and consistent quality.
- Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, and supply agreements while driving cost-saving initiatives and procurement efficiency.
- Monitor purchase orders, supplier performance, and delivery schedules to ensure timely availability of consumable materials.
- Conduct market analysis, identify alternative suppliers, and monitor price trends for production consumables.
- Coordinate with Production, Technical, Quality, Warehouse, and Finance teams to support new material qualification, supplier evaluation, and procurement planning.
- Ensure procurement documentation, contracts, ERP records, and supplier databases are maintained accurately and in compliance with company policies.
- Handle quality issues, returns, replacements, invoice reconciliation, and payment processing related to consumable materials.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, Materials Science, or other related disciplines.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in procuring raw materials, packaging materials, or production consumables is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end procurement processes, supplier management, sourcing strategies, inventory control, and manufacturing operations.
- Good negotiation, analytical, cost control, and supplier relationship management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP).
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken.
