### About Us
PT Aerae Manufacturing Indonesia is a foreign-investment (PMA) advanced manufacturing and renewable energy R&D company establishing its workshop at Kawasan Industri Terpadu Kabil, Batam. We build prototype and production hardware, and we are assembling a small, high-calibre team from the ground up.
### About the Role
You will own procurement end-to-end. That means finding the right suppliers for industrial equipment, machinery, tooling, and materials — domestically and overseas — securing competitive quotations, negotiating terms, and managing the import documentation required to land goods in the Batam Free Trade Zone. This is a hands-on role in a lean team: you will be sourcing, negotiating, and clearing customs, not administering someone else's system.
### Key Responsibilities
- Source and compare quotations for equipment, machinery, tooling, raw materials, and consumables from Indonesian and overseas suppliers (China, Singapore, Taiwan, Europe)
- Prepare RFQs, quotation comparison tables, and purchase recommendations for management review
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, Incoterms, lead times, warranties, and after-sales support
- Prepare and manage import/export documentation: PPFTZ-01, commercial invoice, packing list, Bill of Lading / Airway Bill, Certificate of Origin
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers (PPJK), Bea Cukai, and BP Batam; resolve customs holds and documentation queries
- Track shipments from PO to site delivery; manage goods receipt and basic inventory records
- Conduct supplier due diligence — legitimacy checks, references, technical capability, factory verification where required
- Maintain the supplier database, purchase order records, and procurement filing for audit and tax purposes
### Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience in procurement, purchasing, or sourcing — preferably in manufacturing, shipyard, oil & gas, or electronics
- **Essential:** hands-on experience with Batam FTZ import procedures (PPFTZ-01 and related), and working directly with freight forwarders and PPJK
- Strong negotiation skills, and confidence approaching new suppliers cold — email, phone, Alibaba/1688, and trade platforms
- Experience importing capital equipment and machinery, including HS code classification and masterlist / duty exemption processes
- Familiarity with API-U / API-P and NIB-based import licensing
- Good written and spoken English for supplier correspondence
- Proficient in Excel / Google Sheets for quotation comparison and cost analysis
- Highly organised and detail-oriented; able to work independently and prioritise in a fast-moving environment
- Domiciled in Batam, or willing to relocate
### Preferred
- Mandarin is a significant advantage for China sourcing
- Exposure to ERP or procurement software, or basic accounting workflow (PO → GRN → invoice)
- Technical background or comfort reading engineering drawings and equipment specifications
