Pattern Cutter
PT Bali Moda Busana is looking for an experienced Pattern Cutter to join our team. This role is responsible for developing high-quality garment patterns, supporting sample development, and collaborating closely with designers to bring collections from concept to final approval.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and develop garment patterns using both 2D pattern making and 3D draping techniques.
- Develop patterns for soft tailoring, dresses, and ready-to-wear garments.
- Prepare complete pattern sets for sampling and pre-production stages.
- Provide clear sewing and construction instructions for cutters and tailors during sample development.
- Collaborate closely with designers to interpret design concepts and ensure accurate execution.
- Review garment fit, construction, and functionality, making pattern adjustments as needed.
- Modify and refine patterns based on design feedback until final approval is achieved.
- Ensure patterns are production-ready and technically accurate.
- Select and adapt pattern solutions according to fabric characteristics and garment construction requirements.
- Maintain organized pattern documentation and development records.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of solid experience as a Pattern Cutter in a tailoring studio, fashion studio, or pattern development environment.
- Strong expertise in both 2D pattern making and 3D draping/manual draping techniques.
- Proven experience in creative pattern cutting and garment development.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, and sewing techniques.
- Ability to create complete pattern sets and provide technical guidance for sample making.
- Good understanding of various fabric types and their behavior in garment construction.
- Fashion Design, Fashion Technology, Pattern Making education, professional certification, or equivalent practical experience.
- Able to communicate in English for discussions with designers and technical teams.
- Detail-oriented, problem-solving mindset, and strong technical skills.
- Experience in women's luxury, resort wear, tailoring, or contemporary fashion brands will be an advantage.
