💼 Job Summary
Responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating engaging and creative music programs aligned with international school curriculum standards. The Music Teacher plays a key role in developing students’ musical abilities, creativity, confidence, and appreciation of the arts through music theory, vocal, and instrumental instruction. The role also supports school performances, artistic productions, and special events that enhance students’ learning experiences
🎯 Key Responsibilities
1. Supporting and Fostering School Values
Encourage students to demonstrate confidence, creativity, curiosity, and reflective thinking through music education.
Promote respect, collaboration, and appreciation for cultural diversity through music-related activities.
Serve as a role model by demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and lifelong learning
2. Planning and Delivering Music Instruction
Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging music lessons that meet students’ developmental needs.
Teach music theory, vocal techniques, rhythm, and proficiency in one or more musical instruments
Utilize a variety of instructional strategies that promote creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking skills
Integrate educational technology effectively into teaching, communication, and student assessment practices.
Assess, document, and report students’ academic and musical progress on a regular basis.
3. Supporting Performances and Talent Development
Coach and guide students in choir, music ensembles, concerts, and school performances.
Organize rehearsals, technical preparations, and coordination of school music performances.
Encourage students to participate in competitions, festivals, and artistic events that support their talent development.
Collaborate with teachers and other departments in organizing performances, musical productions, and cross-curricular activities
🔎 Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Music Education, Music Performance, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of teaching experience (experience in an international school is an advantage).
Proficient in vocal and/or at least one musical instrument.
Strong knowledge of music theory and practical music instruction.
Able to plan and deliver engaging music lessons for students of different age groups.
Good classroom management and communication skills.
Fluent in spoken and written English.
Creative, patient, and passionate about teaching music.
Able to organize and support school performances, concerts, and extracurricular activities.
