Mine Plan Supervisor (Nickel Mining)
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Mine Plan Supervisor to support and oversee mine planning activities in our nickel mining operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and optimizing mine plans to ensure production targets are achieved safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise daily mine planning activities and ensure alignment with production objectives.
* Prepare, review, and optimize short-term, medium-term, and long-term mine plans.
* Develop pit designs, haul road designs, dump plans, and mining sequences.
* Monitor mining progress and analyze actual production performance against the approved mine plan.
* Provide recommendations and corrective actions to improve operational efficiency and productivity.
* Coordinate closely with Operations, Geology, Survey, and HSE departments to ensure smooth execution of mining activities.
* Ensure all mine planning activities comply with company standards, safety requirements, and government regulations.
* Prepare periodic reports, production forecasts, and planning presentations for management.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in Mine Planning within the mining industry, preferably in nickel mining operations.
* Strong experience in short-term and long-term mine planning.
* Proficient in mining software such as Surpac, Minescape, Vulcan, Datamine, or similar applications.
* Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
* Good leadership, communication, and coordination abilities.
* Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
* Willing to be assigned to a site-based roster system.
* POP Certification is an advantage.
