About the role
This role involves working closely with buyers and other merchandisers in the garment industry, managing budgets, predicting sales and profits, and negotiating with suppliers and distributors. You will handle sample follow-up, production status, and garment purchase orders, while developing and maintaining relationships with key suppliers and manufacturers.
• Work closely with buyers and other merchandisers to plan and develop product ranges according to customer requirements.
• Communicate and coordinate with buyers, suppliers, vendors, and internal departments to ensure smooth product development and production processes.
• Prepare and monitor garment costing, including fabric, accessories, labor, and other production-related costs.
• Prepare, review, and understand the Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Manage and monitor budgets, product costs, and target prices.
• Forecast and analyze sales, costs, and profitability.
• Negotiate quantities, prices, and delivery lead times with suppliers and vendors.
• Follow up and handle samples, production status, material status, and garment POs.
• Follow up on fabric and accessories to ensure materials are available according to the production schedule.
• Develop and maintain good relationships with key suppliers and manufacturers, ensuring alignment with business requirements in terms of price, quality, delivery, and product availability.
• Follow up production samples with vendors until approval is obtained.
• Monitor product development and production progress to ensure all activities meet the required quality, cost, and timeline.
• Identify and resolve issues within the required timeframe and escalate critical issues to the superior when necessary.
• Ensure all merchandising activities are completed according to buyer requirements and company standards.
