merchandiser production and development

Key Responsibilities

1. Sampling & Development Support

• Assist in preparing tech packs, BOM, and sample requests

• Follow up on sample development (proto, fit, PP sample)

• Coordinate with suppliers for fabric and trims sourcing

• Ensure all sample approvals are tracked and updated

2. Production Follow-Up

• Support in monitoring bulk production status

• Follow up with factories on daily/weekly progress

• Update Time & Action (T&A) plan regularly

• Ensure production milestones are achieved on schedule

3. Data Management & Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of:

• Orders

• Production status

• Fabric & trims usage

• Update tracking sheets (Excel / Google Sheets)

• Prepare routine reports for the merchandiser / supervisor

4. Coordination with Suppliers & Internal Teams

• Communicate with vendors regarding:

• Material readiness

• Delivery timelines

• Coordinate with internal teams (design, QC, warehouse)

• Ensure all information is aligned and updated

5. Quality & Inspection Support

• Assist in coordinating inline and final inspections

• Track and document any quality issues

• Follow up on corrective actions with suppliers

6. Documentation & Order Processing

• Prepare and manage documents:

• Purchase Orders (PO)

• Material approvals

• Production files

• Ensure all documentation is complete and properly filed

7. General Administrative Support

• Handle day-to-day merchandising admin tasks

• Ensure all trackers, files, and communication are well-organized

• Support team in achieving on-time delivery targets

Education & Experience

• Minimum Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Fashion, Textile, Business, or related field

• 1–2 years experience in garment merchandising / production

• Basic understanding of garment production flow (sampling to bulk production)

• Is highly organized and detail-oriented

• Has strong sense of urgency & ownership

• Is proactive and able to anticipate problems early

• Can manage multiple SKUs and timelines at once

• Is comfortable working with vendors & production teams

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks
