Job Description:
We are looking for dedicated Mentor Skripsi to provide comprehensive guidance and emotional support for final-year students. The role focuses on helping students master scientific thinking and academic writing for their undergraduate thesis (Skripsi). Mentors will act as a "Skripsi Buddy," helping students navigate the research process from initial topic exploration and proposal development to final analysis and completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guide students in developing scientific logic and research logic (Bab 1-5).
- Assist in structuring academic writing (Proposal, thesis, journal).
- Provide technical direction and mental support to help students find solutions to research obstacles.
- Help students understand research methodology and data analysis based on their specific fields.
- Define clear topics for each mentoring session to ensure discussions remain productive and focused.
- Assist students in operating research-related software and following academic writing standards.
- Review and give feedback on student drafts (Proposal, thesis, or journal)
- Ensure all guidance is accurate, consistent, and easy for students to understand.
Qualifications:
- Minimum D4/S1 graduates (S2/S3 are preferred) in one of the following clusters:
- Saintek Practical: IT, Engineering, etc.
- Saintek Pure Sciences: Mathematics, Biology, Agriculture, Health, etc.
- Soshum Economics & Business: Economics, Accounting, Management, etc.
- Soshum Humanities & Social: Law, Psychology, Communication, Social Sciences, etc.
- Fresh Graduate (0 – 2 years of experience) are welcome to apply
- Minimum GPA 3.5 with an A grade in their Undergraduate Thesis (Skripsi/TA)
- Strong understanding of:
- Research logic and methodology (quantitative/qualitative)
- Academic writing standards (EYD, KBBI, citation methods, paraphrasing techniques, etc.).
- Able to operate at least one research/data tool (either quantitative or qualitative), such as:
- SPSS, SmartPLS, Excel, Stata, R, or Python for quantitative research
- NVivo or ATLAS.ti for qualitative research
- Having experience in academic publication (journal/conference) is a plus.
- Having experience in mentoring/tutoring peers or juniors is a plus.
- Soft Skills:
- Ability to simplify complex problems into clear, actionable guidance.
- Strong communication skills with a high level of empathy and patience.
- Able to adapt to different learning styles and student needs
- Disciplined, responsible, and able to manage time and commitments effectively
- Passionate about learning new things and staying updated on academic trends.
- Able to communicate availability clearly and complete tasks within agreed deadlines.
