We are looking for an experienced and highly responsible Engineering & Maintenance Manager to lead and oversee aircraft engineering and maintenance activities, ensuring aircraft safety, airworthiness, reliability, and compliance with applicable aviation regulations and company standards.
The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise in aircraft maintenance, excellent leadership skills, and experience coordinating maintenance activities, engineers, mechanics, vendors, and aviation authorities.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and manage the Engineering & Maintenance Department and ensure effective day-to-day operations.
- Develop and implement aircraft maintenance plans, schedules, and maintenance programs.
- Ensure all aircraft maintenance activities are performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved maintenance procedures.
- Monitor aircraft airworthiness, serviceability, reliability, and maintenance status.
- Supervise and coordinate aircraft engineers, mechanics, technicians, and other maintenance personnel.
- Plan and monitor scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repair, overhaul, and component replacement.
- Coordinate with Aircraft Operations, Flight Operations, Procurement, Finance, and other departments regarding aircraft maintenance requirements.
- Coordinate with MRO, maintenance vendors, OEMs, suppliers, and other external parties for maintenance activities and technical support.
- Monitor aircraft maintenance costs, spare parts, tools, equipment, and maintenance resources.
- Ensure availability and proper management of aircraft spare parts, materials, tools, and technical equipment.
- Review and maintain aircraft technical records, maintenance records, work orders, inspection reports, and other required documentation.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with applicable DGCA/aviation regulations, approved maintenance programs, company procedures, and safety standards.
- Support and coordinate aviation authority audits, inspections, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify technical risks and maintenance issues and provide appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
- Conduct root cause analysis for recurring technical problems and recommend improvement measures.
- Monitor maintenance performance, aircraft downtime, reliability, and technical KPIs.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance and continuous improvement programs.
- Ensure proper implementation of Safety Management System (SMS) and maintenance safety procedures.
- Prepare regular maintenance and engineering reports for Management/Directors.
- Develop the competency and performance of engineering and maintenance personnel through training, coaching, and evaluation.
- Ensure all maintenance personnel hold the required qualifications, licenses, and competencies for their assigned responsibilities.
- Perform other duties related to aircraft engineering and maintenance as assigned by Management.
Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Aircraft Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in aircraft maintenance/engineering, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory position.
- Strong experience in aircraft maintenance operations and technical management.
- Possess relevant Aircraft Maintenance Engineer/Technician license or certification in accordance with applicable regulations.
- Experience working with DGCA regulations and aviation maintenance standards.
- Strong understanding of aircraft maintenance programs, airworthiness, technical records, and maintenance planning.
- Experience coordinating with MRO, OEM, vendors, and aviation authorities.
- Strong knowledge of aviation safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, and team management skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Able to work under pressure and handle urgent technical and operational situations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and reporting tools.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken, is preferred.
- Experience with helicopter/rotary-wing aircraft is highly preferred.
- Experience in external load, charter, offshore, utility, or special mission aviation is an advantage.
- Willing to work according to operational requirements, including weekends, holidays, or on-call arrangements when required.
