Job Overview
We are looking for a freelance Legal Associate based in Semarang to handle business permit and licensing matters for our clients. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience navigating local government agencies (AHU, OSS system, and related regional offices) and who understands the practical, on the ground process of securing business licenses in Central Java.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients in preparing, submitting, and following up on business permit applications (e.g., NIB, izin usaha, izin lokasi, izin lingkungan, and other sector-specific permits) through OSS-RBA and relevant local agencies in Semarang and surrounding areas.
- Liaise directly with AHU and other relevant local government offices to track application status and resolve administrative issues.
- Review and prepare supporting documents required for permit applications (company documents, technical specifications, site plans, etc.).
- Advise clients on regulatory requirements applicable to their business sector and location.
- Conduct site visits when required to support permit verification processes (e.g., field surveys by local authorities).
- Provide regular progress updates and documentation to the internal legal team.
- Coordinate with internal Legal Associates/Managers on case strategy and escalate issues that require senior legal judgment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Law (S.H.) from an accredited university.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience handling business permits/licensing, either in-house, at a law firm, or as an independent consultant.
- Based in or very familiar with Semarang and willing to travel locally to government offices and client sites.
- Working knowledge of OSS-RBA, NIB, and general business licensing regulations in Indonesia.
- Established familiarity with or existing relationships at AHU and related local agencies is a strong advantage.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple permit cases with overlapping deadlines.
- Good communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision and provide timely status reports.
Engagement Terms
- Project-based/freelance engagement, compensated per case or per agreed scope (to be discussed).
- Flexible working arrangement, with occasional in-person coordination or site visits as needed.
