About the role
We are seeking a Legal & Compliance Supervisor to join our dynamic team at BIMA TEK INDONESIA', a leading technology company based in Surabaya, East Java. In this full-time role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the company operates in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, while providing strategic legal guidance to support the company's growth initiatives.
What you'll be doing
- Developing plans for product certification and licensing applications through to completion.
- Managing activities related to corporate legal compliance, reviewing business contracts and all necessary permits.
- Monitoring product legal compliance and problem solving for existing obstacles.
- Mediating corporate legal issues with third parties.
- Planning and carrying out tasks related to corporate law (Legal Unit) in providing legal considerations to management and managers in their respective departments/divisions.
- Representing management in communicating and negotiating with external parties (regulators, external advisors, public authorities, etc.) regarding product legality, etc.
- Overseeing business developments related to agreements.
- Providing direction and motivating the Legal Department team to work according to instructions in order to achieve company goals and targets.
- Planning departmental objectives, individual targets and evaluating the performance (KPI) of the Legal Department.
- Allocate resources (manpower, budget, methods, time) effectively and efficiently, especially within the Legal Department.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of work processes within the Legal Department.
What we're looking for
- 2+ years of post-qualification experience in a commercial law firm or in-house legal team
- Extensive knowledge of corporate, commercial, and regulatory laws, including experience in areas such as contract law, mergers and acquisitions, and intellectual property
- Proven ability to provide pragmatic, commercially-focused legal advice to operational staff and senior stakeholders
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Experience in supervising and mentoring junior legal counsel, if applicable
