As Micrology prepares to open its Bali branch in Canggu, we are looking for passionate hospitality professionals who are excited to be part of a growing specialty coffee brand and contribute to building an exceptional café experience from the very beginning
What You Will Contribute:
As a Lead Barista, you will play a key role in maintaining the quality, consistency, and innovation of Micrology Coffee Roasters Bali’s coffee program. You will lead by example on the floor, support daily café operations, train and develop the bar team, and ensure every beverage reflects Micrology’s specialty coffee standards
This role is ideal for someone passionate about specialty coffee, hospitality, team development, and creating meaningful guest experiences through exceptional coffee service
What You Will Do:
- Support the Venue Manager in overseeing smooth daily café operations
- Prepare and serve specialty coffee beverages with high consistency and quality standards
- Dial in espresso recipes and maintain brewing standards across all coffee offerings
- Ensure all coffee recipes and beverage presentations meet Micrology standards
- Lead and support the bar team during daily operations
- Train, mentor, and develop baristas and café staff on coffee knowledge, brewing techniques, and service standards
- Maintain high standards of customer service and guest engagement
- Conduct ongoing quality control of coffee being served in the café
- Assist with seasonal beverage development and new product introductions
- Monitor stock levels for coffee beans, milk, retail products, and café supplies
- Assist with stock take procedures and inventory organization
- Ensure coffee equipment is clean, calibrated, and well maintained at all times
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, seating, and service areas
- Support café promotions, events, coffee cuppings, and marketing initiatives
- Share specialty coffee knowledge with staff and customers
- Coordinate with the roasting team and management regarding coffee quality and menu development
- Ensure all staff maintain grooming, punctuality, and operational standards
- Assist with recruitment and onboarding of new café staff when required
- Attend and participate in coffee industry events as a company representative
Who We’re Looking For:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the food & beverage industry as a Barista
- Strong experience working in specialty coffee cafés
- Experience leading and supervising café or bar teams
- High level of knowledge in espresso preparation and manual brewing methods
- Able to dial in espresso recipes independently and maintain consistency
- Strong latte art skills and understanding of specialty coffee standards
- Good understanding of coffee extraction, brewing variables, and equipment calibration
- Experience developing specialty coffee beverages and seasonal drink menus is preferred
- Familiar with commercial espresso machines and grinders
- Experience using La Marzocco, Mahlkönig, or Hario equipment is an advantage
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good understanding of workplace hygiene, cleanliness, and safety standards
- Passionate about coffee education, hospitality, and customer experience
- High level of spoken English communication
- Professional, organized, proactive, and detail-oriented
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced hospitality environment
