Job Description
We are looking for an experienced L2 Electrical / HVAC Engineer to support the operation and maintenance of critical infrastructure within an AI Data Center environment. The role focuses on maintaining the reliability, availability, and performance of cooling infrastructure, particularly Cooling Distribution Units (CDUs) and secondary cooling loops.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in HVAC systems, liquid cooling technology, and mission-critical facilities, preferably in data centers or other 24/7 operational environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, operate, and maintain CDU systems and secondary cooling loops.
- Ensure cooling infrastructure operates reliably and efficiently to support AI Data Center operations.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC and liquid cooling equipment.
- Troubleshoot temperature, flow, pressure, differential pressure (DP), pump, valve, water-quality, and leak-detection issues.
- Monitor system performance through BMS and other monitoring platforms.
- Interpret P&IDs, technical drawings, and equipment documentation.
- Support incident management, change management, root cause analysis (RCA), and corrective actions.
- Follow SOP, MOP, and EOP procedures during maintenance and emergency situations.
- Maintain compliance with data center redundancy requirements, including N+1 and 2N configurations.
- Provide 24/7 operational support, including shift work and on-call duties.
- Coordinate with facility and engineering teams to ensure continuous cooling system availability.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, HVAC, Facilities Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in HVAC, cooling systems, or critical facilities operations.
- Experience in data centers, industrial facilities, or other 24/7 mission-critical environments is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC and cooling infrastructure, including:
- Chillers and cooling towers / dry coolers
- CRAH / AHU systems
- Pumps, heat exchangers, valves, and piping
- Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Cooling Distribution Units (CDUs)
- Liquid cooling systems and secondary cooling loops
- Ability to troubleshoot cooling system issues and interpret P&IDs and technical drawings.
- Understanding of preventive maintenance, equipment redundancy, SOP/MOP/EOP, incident management, and RCA.
- Willing to work on a 24/7 shift rotation and provide on-call support.
- Good English communication skills.
- Mandarin language proficiency will be an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience supporting AI Data Centers or high-density computing environments.
- Exposure to direct liquid cooling infrastructure and CDU operations.
- OEM training or certification in CDU / liquid cooling systems is an advantage. Training and certification may also be provided after employment.
