Recruitment:
1.Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, information technology, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
2. Recommended if possess one or more of the following certifications: Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), EC-Council Certified Incident Handler (ECIH), Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI), CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+), CompTIA Security+
3. Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, including network security, malware analysis, and incident response.
4. Familiarity with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, ArcSight, or QRadar) and IDS/IPS systems.
5. Basic knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, proxies, and email security.
6. Competency with Windows and Linux operating systems, including their security features.
7. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
8. 1-3 years of experience in cybersecurity or a related IT field. Prior experience in a SOC environment is a plus but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Monitor Security Alerts: Continuously monitor SIEM tools and other security platforms to detect potential security incidents.
2. Incident Triage: Analyze and prioritize security alerts and incidents, escalating them to senior analysts as needed.
3. Documentation: Accurately document security incidents, including all relevant details, in ticketing systems.
4. Basic Threat Analysis: Assist in initial threat analysis and provide context on alerts to senior SOC members.
5. Incident Response Support: Support the incident response team with preliminary investigations, including gathering logs and data.
6. Maintain SOC Tools: Regularly update and maintain security tools and systems as directed.
7. Shift Work: Work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as the SOC operates 24/7.
