Kitchen Porter Job Description
A Kitchen Porter is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and organization in the kitchen to ensure a safe and efficient working environment. They support chefs and kitchen staff by washing dishes, cleaning kitchen equipment, sanitizing food preparation areas, and assisting with basic food preparation when required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
* Clean and maintain kitchen workstations, floors, walls, and storage areas.
* Dispose of waste and recycling according to health and safety regulations.
* Assist with receiving, unpacking, and storing deliveries.
* Ensure all cleaning chemicals and equipment are used safely and stored correctly.
* Support chefs with basic food preparation tasks as needed.
* Replenish kitchen supplies and maintain stock of cleaning materials.
* Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards at all times.
* Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations.
Skills and Qualifications:
