About the Role
We are looking for a Production Head / Kepala Produksi who is highly motivated, detail-oriented, disciplined, and results-driven to lead and oversee end-to-end production operations across food manufacturing and production facilities.
In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring that production activities run safely, efficiently, consistently, and according to established quality, quantity, cost, and delivery targets. You will be responsible for managing production planning and execution, optimizing manpower and equipment utilization, ensuring food safety and product quality, and leading the production team to achieve operational excellence.
Scope of Work
- Manage and oversee daily production operations to ensure production targets are achieved according to established quality, quantity, cost, and delivery (QQCD) standards.
- Develop and execute production plans based on demand forecasts, operational requirements, raw material availability, manpower capacity, and production capacity.
- Coordinate closely with PPIC, Warehouse, Purchasing, Quality Assurance/Quality Control, Engineering, and Operations teams to ensure smooth and uninterrupted production activities.
- Monitor production processes from raw material preparation, processing, cooking, assembly, packing, and finished goods handling to ensure compliance with established SOPs and production standards.
- Ensure efficient utilization of manpower, machinery, equipment, raw materials, and production facilities to achieve optimal productivity and minimize operational losses.
- Monitor and control production output, production efficiency, yield, material usage, downtime, overtime, waste, rejects, and production variances.
- Ensure proper implementation of FIFO/FEFO, production traceability, batch control, and material usage in accordance with production and food safety requirements.
- Ensure compliance with EHS/OHS, 5S, GMP, HACCP, Halal, ISO, sanitation, food safety standards, and company policies throughout all production activities.
- Lead, coach, discipline, and develop production team members to achieve operational targets and productivity standards.
- Monitor production performance and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve productivity, quality, efficiency, and operational consistency.
- Drive Continuous Improvement initiatives through Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, waste reduction, productivity improvement, and operational cost-efficiency programs.
- Review production processes and identify opportunities to improve capacity, workflow, line balancing, manpower utilization, equipment utilization, and production lead time.
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting of production activities, including daily production reports, output achievement, downtime, material usage, production losses, and operational issues.
- Work closely with the Quality team to ensure products consistently meet established quality, food safety, hygiene, and specification standards.
- Coordinate with Engineering/Maintenance teams to minimize machine downtime and ensure production equipment is properly maintained and available for operation.
- Ensure production areas maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, organization, safety, and 5S discipline.
- Manage production-related costs and identify opportunities to reduce material waste, labor costs, overtime, energy consumption, downtime, and other operational expenses.
- Participate in capacity planning, production expansion, new product introduction, process improvement, and other operational projects as required.
- Ensure effective communication and escalation of production issues to management, together with clear analysis and proposed solutions.
- Prepare and present regular production performance reports and provide actionable recommendations to improve operational performance.
Qualifications
- Minimum Diploma (D3) or Bachelor’s degree (S1) in Industrial Engineering, Food Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in production/manufacturing operations, preferably within the food industry, F&B, FMCG, or food manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience as a Production Supervisor, Production Manager, Assistant Production Manager, or equivalent team leadership position.
- Strong understanding of production planning, production processes, manpower planning, capacity planning, material requirements, and production control.
- Experience managing food production processes involving raw materials such as chicken, flour, sauces/sambal, cooking oil, seasonings, and other food ingredients is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of production yield, material consumption, waste control, batch control, production variance, and inventory usage.
- Experience working with PPIC, Warehouse, QA/QC, Purchasing, Engineering/Maintenance, and Logistics teams.
- Proficient in or experienced with SAP S/4HANA, ERP, WMS, production management systems, or other operational systems.
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, Continuous Improvement, and productivity improvement.
- Good understanding of GMP, HACCP, Halal, ISO, EHS/OHS, sanitation, hygiene, and food safety requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong leadership, communication, coordination, and people-management skills.
- Good communication skills in both Bahasa Indonesia and English.
- Willing to work overtime, shifts, weekends, or public holidays when required based on operational needs.
