Deskripsi pekerjaan Jewellery Designer (Remote) Maedric
Remote role for a Singapore fine-jewellery brand, open to candidates based in Indonesia. Please apply only if you can show finished jewellery design work, ideally fine jewellery. You start on paid projects under a direct service agreement with Maedric. If the projects go well, we aim to offer a full-time contract through our Employer of Record partner. The work address on this listing is a placeholder; there is no office to attend.
ABOUT MAEDRIC
Maedric is a Singapore fine-jewellery brand, founded by a GIA Graduate Gemologist and a jewellery designer. The gemologist sources coloured stones and vets parcels in person, and pieces are made as bespoke commissions or offered as curated stock.

THE ROLE
You help develop Maedric's designs from our founder-designer's briefs. Each project has a written brief, defined deliverables and a deadline, and design direction stays with the founder.
- Turn a brief into design concepts, as sketches, gouache or digital renderings.
- Develop design variations for each brief, and refine them from the founder's feedback.
- Produce technical drawings, and CAD models if you work in CAD, that production can build from.
- Ask clear questions when the brief leaves something open, and flag anything that would be hard to make or wear.
Not part of the role: sourcing or setting stones, or production work beyond what the design needs.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
- Strong English communication, as a baseline. Briefs and feedback are written in English, so you read them closely, ask clear questions and explain your design choices.
- Strong work in at least one of two skill groups. Hand: freehand sketches or gouache renderings. Digital: renderings in Procreate, Illustrator or Photoshop, or CAD models in Rhino, Matrix or similar. Strong work in both places you at the upper end of the pay band.
- Pieces that can be worn and made: sound settings, metals such as 18K yellow, white and rose gold, and awareness of how casting or hand fabrication changes a design.
- A feel for coloured gemstones: proportion, colour pairing, and how a cut such as Oval, Cushion, Pear or Octagon changes the design.
- Work that stays inside a given design language.
A bonus, not required: bridal or engagement-ring work, mood boards or presentation sheets, and designing around a set of existing gemstones.
PAY AND TERMS
- IDR 4,000,000 – 6,000,000 per month. Where you sit in the band depends on the skill groups you bring.
- To start: about IDR 1,200,000 (SGD 100) per project, agreed before work starts. During this stage you are engaged directly by Maedric as an independent professional, choose your own hours, and are paid per project against the deliverables.
- If the projects go well: a full-time contract through our Employer of Record, which provides BPJS Kesehatan and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, THR and statutory annual leave. Part-time at 20 hours a week is possible.
- Singapore is one hour ahead of WIB. The exact workload and hours are discussed on the call.
- You sign an NDA before we send any brief, and rights in the work you create for us are assigned to Maedric in writing.
HOW TO APPLY
Send us:
- A link to your portfolio (Behance, Instagram, Google Drive or a personal site) of finished jewellery design, with your role in each piece stated. Fine jewellery in precious metals and gemstones is preferred, though strong costume or fashion-accessory work is also considered.
- 1–3 pieces you are proudest of, with one line describing what you did for each.
- Samples from your skill groups: hand, digital, or both.
- One technical drawing with dimensions and top, front and side views.
- Your expected monthly pay, in IDR.
A CV is optional. Applications in a language other than English, or without a portfolio link, will not be reviewed.
What happens next:
- We review what you send.
- A short video call.
- A paid test brief of about 4 hours, paid at SGD 50 (about IDR 700,000).
- Two or three paid projects.
- A full-time contract (or 20 hours a week part-time) through our Employer of Record.
