The IT Support position is responsible for ensuring that all technology infrastructure, hardware, software, and networks within Cave Academy operate smoothly and efficiently. This role is highly crucial in supporting the daily operational activities of staff and facilitators, as well as ensuring an optimal teaching and learning experience for students, particularly regarding the use of educational platforms and classroom laboratory equipment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Support (Helpdesk & Troubleshooting)
- Act as the primary point of contact for staff, instructors, and students experiencing technical issues related to hardware, software, or network connectivity
- Perform quick and accurate troubleshooting to minimize disruptions to the teaching and learning process.
- Manage, track, and resolve IT support tickets in accordance with the established Service Level Agreement (SLA).
2. Hardware and Software Maintenance
- Install, configure, and update operating systems (Windows/macOS), productivity applications, and specific software utilized in the academy's curriculum (e.g., programming tools, IDEs for Python/SQL, design applications).
- Conduct routine maintenance on hardware assets, including laptops, desktop PCs, projectors, printers, and smart classroom devices.
- Set up workstations and system access for new employees or instructors (onboarding) and promptly revoke access for departing personnel (offboarding).
3. Network and Infrastructure Management
- Monitor the stability and security of the internet network (Wi-Fi and LAN) across all academy premises.
- Perform basic configuration on routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Ensure daily data backup systems are functioning properly and execute data recovery procedures when necessary.
4. Administration and Inventory
- Record and manage the inventory of all company IT assets, tracking warranty statuses and repair histories.
- Prepare monthly reports detailing equipment conditions and IT issue resolution metrics.
- Provide recommendations for hardware or software procurement and upgrades based on the operational needs of the academy.
Qualifications
- Education: Minimum of an Associate Degree (D3) or Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience: 1–2 years of proven experience in IT Support, Helpdesk, or network administration. Prior experience working within an educational institution or academy is highly preferred.
Technical Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems.
- Proficiency in basic network troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WLAN).
- Familiarity with the installation and management and collaboration tools such as Google Workspace (including document automation add-ons like Mail Merge or Autocrat) and Microsoft Office 365.
- Basic understanding of endpoint cybersecurity and antivirus protection.
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical solutions clearly to non-technical users,
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environmentHighly responsive, detail-oriented, and proactive in problem-solving.
