Security Analyst Staff role involves monitoring, detecting, investigating, and responding to security threats while helping strengthen our overall security posture.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyse alerts from security tools such as SIEM, firewalls, antivirus, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection systems.
- Investigate potential security incidents, follow response procedures, and escalate issues as needed. Ensure the smooth operation of Security Operations Centre (SOC) systems and tools.
- Develop and improve cyber threat detection use cases and help reduce false positives.
- Support continuous improvement of SOC incident response processes
- Perform vulnerability assessments, penetration testing and assist in remediation efforts
- Manage and respond to change requests, service requests, and incident tickets.
- Execute daily operational tasks and contribute to security-related projects.
- Ensure the smooth operation of Security Operations Centre (SOC) systems and tools.
Requirements
- Experience: 1–2 years in IT Security or SOC operations
- Education: Diploma or bachelor’s degree in information security, Information Systems, or related field
- Technical Skills :
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, networking, operating systems, and cybersecurity fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience with SIEM, firewalls, antivirus, and endpoint security tools.
- Working knowledge of Linux (commands, file editing, and basic scripting).
- Familiarity with security technologies such as IDS/IPS, HIDS/HIPS, WAFs, and proxies| - Desirable Skills:
- Scripting knowledge (Python, Bash, or PowerShell).
- Security certifications (e.g., CCNA Security, CEH, Security+, CSA, MCP, MCSA) is a plus - Soft Skills
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, proactive mindset, and ability to work under pressure. - Other Requirements
- Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and standby rotations.
- Flexibility extending working hours if required
