Job Description
- Design, implement, maintain, and manage scalable, highly available (HA), and reliable database systems.
- Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure optimal database availability, security, and integrity.
- Develop, optimize, and maintain SQL queries to ensure efficient database performance.
- Perform database design, including indexing, partitioning, and performance tuning.
- Manage relational and non-relational databases across on-premises and cloud environments.
- Implement database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data availability and business continuity.
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and other IT teams to support application requirements and ensure database reliability.
- Identify and resolve complex database-related issues and recommend improvements to database architecture and performance.
- Stay up to date with the latest database technologies, tools, and industry best practices.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (S1) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Willing to work in a 24/7 shift rotation
- Minimum of 1 year of work experience as a Database Engineer or in a related role.
- Hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing scalable and highly available (HA) database systems.
- Strong knowledge of relational database management systems (RDBMS), such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and DB2, as well as NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
- Strong knowledge of in-memory databases, particularly Redis.
- Proficiency in Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Strong SQL skills, including the ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize queries for performance and efficiency.
- Good understanding of database design principles, including indexing, partitioning, and database normalization.
- Experience with cloud database technologies and services, such as AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL, and Azure Database.
- Familiarity with database management tools such as SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), HeidiSQL, Oracle SQL Developer, SQLyog, and Redis Insight.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Ability to learn independently and keep up with emerging technologies and industry developments.
- Relevant database certifications, such as Oracle Certified Professional, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Database Engineer, AWS Certified Database certifications, or other related certifications, are an advantage.
