Tunas Industrial Estate is seeking an experienced IoT & Telecomms Leader to lead the planning, implementation, operation, and maintenance of IoT infrastructure and telecommunication systems across the industrial estate. The successful candidate will oversee smart infrastructure initiatives, enterprise network connectivity, and digital transformation projects to improve operational efficiency, security, and business continuity.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, implementation, operation, and maintenance of IoT and telecommunication systems.
- Develop IoT strategies and smart infrastructure solutions for the industrial estate.
- Manage enterprise network infrastructure, fiber optic backbone, LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, and telecommunications systems.
- Oversee IoT devices, gateways, sensors, and industrial communication systems.
- Ensure network availability, reliability, and cybersecurity across all communication systems.
- Plan and execute preventive maintenance, upgrades, and expansion of network infrastructure.
- Coordinate installation, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of IoT and telecom systems.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Facility, Utility, IT, Security, and external vendors.
- Manage ISP providers, telecom vendors, contractors, and system integrators.
- Support Smart Building, Smart Utility, Smart Security, and Industrial Automation initiatives.
- Monitor system performance and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Prepare technical documentation, budgets, project reports, and management presentations.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the IoT & Telecom team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum **5 years** of experience in Telecommunications, Network Infrastructure, IoT, or Industrial Communication Systems.
- Minimum **2 years** in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Internet of Things (IoT)
- Fiber Optic Networks
- TCP/IP Networking
- LAN/WAN
- Wi-Fi & Wireless Networks
- Industrial Ethernet
- CCTV Systems
- Access Control Systems
- VoIP/IP Telephony
- SCADA Communication Networks
- Experience with Cisco, Huawei, MikroTik, firewalls, routers, switches, and network monitoring systems.
- Familiar with MQTT, Modbus, OPC UA, and industrial communication protocols.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles and network security best practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, project management, and analytical skills.
- Willing to be based in Batam.
Preferred Qualifications
- CCNA, CCNP, HCIA, HCIP, MikroTik, or equivalent certifications.
- Experience in industrial estates, manufacturing, smart city, or infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of Smart Building Management Systems (BMS) and Smart Utility platforms.
- Experience with cloud-based IoT platforms (AWS IoT, Azure IoT, Huawei Cloud, Alibaba Cloud).
- Mandarin communication skills are an advantage.
