Job Purpose

The Area Manager is responsible for the overall operational performance and business results of multiple vape stores within an assigned area.

The role ensures that each store operates efficiently, achieves its sales and profitability targets, follows company SOPs, maintains consistent customer service standards, and develops a strong and capable store-level team.

The Area Manager serves as the key link between Head Office/Management and Store Managers, ensuring that company strategies and initiatives are effectively executed at store level.

The primary focus of the role is: Sales → People → Operations → Inventory → Customer Experience → Continuous Improvement → Revenue → Profit

Key Responsibilities:

A. Sales & Business Performance

  1. Take full responsibility for the overall sales performance of the assigned area and each individual store.
  2. Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance.
  3. Analyze key retail KPIs, including:
  • Sales Revenue
  • Average Transaction Value (ATV)
  • Units per Transaction (UPT)
  • Conversion Rate
  • Gross Margin
  • Product Mix
  • Repeat Customer Rate

4. Identify underperforming stores and develop corrective action plans.

5. Drive Store Managers to consistently achieve and exceed their sales targets.

6. Recommend sales strategies, promotions, product bundling, and merchandising initiatives based on store and market performance.

7. Identify opportunities to increase revenue and profitability across the assigned area.

B. Store Operations

  1. Ensure all stores consistently follow company SOPs and operational standards.
  2. Conduct regular store visits and operational audits.
  3. Ensure each store maintains high standards in:
  • Store cleanliness
  • Visual merchandising
  • Product display
  • Stock availability
  • Customer service
  • Cash handling
  • Opening and closing procedures
  • Security and loss prevention

4. Ensure all stores are properly prepared for company campaigns, promotions, and new initiatives.

5. Identify operational issues and ensure they are resolved effectively and within the required timeline.

6. Ensure all store facilities, equipment, and operational tools are properly maintained.

7. Monitor store opening and closing compliance.

8. Ensure each outlet maintains a professional appearance consistent with company brand standards.

C. Inventory & Stock Management

  1. Ensure adequate product availability across all assigned stores.
  2. Monitor stock levels, stock movement, and slow-moving products.
  3. Minimize:
  • Overstock
  • Stock shortages
  • Stock discrepancies
  • Dead stock
  • Product loss

4. Ensure regular stock counts and stock audits are properly conducted.

5. Monitor inventory accuracy between physical stock and system records.

6. Coordinate with Warehouse and Supply Chain teams regarding replenishment and inter-store stock transfers.

7. Provide inventory recommendations based on individual store sales performance.

8. Monitor fast-moving and slow-moving products and take appropriate action.

9. Ensure products are properly stored, displayed, and handled according to company standards.

10. Investigate significant stock discrepancies and implement corrective actions.

D. Reporting & Business Analysis

  1. Prepare regular area performance reports for management.
  2. Report on:
  • Sales Performance
  • Store KPIs
  • Staffing
  • Inventory
  • Operational Issues
  • Customer Complaints
  • Competitor Activities
  • Corrective Action Plans

3. Analyze sales and operational data to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.

4. Identify the root causes of performance gaps.

5. Use data to determine priorities and improvement initiatives for each store.

6. Provide business insights and recommendations to management.

7. Ensure all required reports are accurate, complete, and submitted on time.

8. Track the progress and effectiveness of improvement initiatives.

9. Present area performance and business updates during management meetings when required.

F. Market & Competitor Monitoring

1. Monitor competitors and market developments within the assigned area.

2. Regularly gather information regarding:

  • Competitor pricing
  • New product launches
  • Promotions
  • New store openings
  • Customer trends
  • Competitor activities
  • Product availability
  • Market demand

3. Analyze competitor strengths and weaknesses.

4. Identify market opportunities that may improve store performance.

5. Provide market insights and recommendations to management.

6. Communicate relevant market changes to Store Managers and ensure appropriate responses are implemented.

7. Monitor changing customer preferences and product trends within the assigned area.

Required Qualifications

  1. Education
  • Minimum Diploma / Associate Degree (D3) or Bachelor's Degree (S1), preferably in Management, Business, Retail Management, or a related field.
  • Candidates with strong and relevant retail experience may be considered regardless of educational background.

2. Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in retail Vape, or a related industry.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a Store Manager, Retail Supervisor, or similar leadership position.
  • Must be fluent in speaking and written in English
  • Smoking or Vaping
  • Directly Handle the day to day store operation, store target and target increment development.
  • Well known of store development that they manage.
  • Experience managing multiple outlets is highly preferred.
  • Experience in sales-driven retail environments is preferred.
  • Experience managing inventory and store-level P&L is an advantage.
