Instructor Data Analyst & Curriculum Development (Remote)

We are looking for a Data Analytics Instructor to teach our CODA bootcamp while contributing to the development and continuous improvement of our curriculum and learning materials.

Job Description

• Develop and continuously improve curriculum and teaching materials covering Data Analytics, SQL, Data Visualization, and Business Analytics.

• Create daily teaching materials, exercises, examples, case studies, and supplementary learning resources.

• Research current industry trends, tools, qualifications, and competencies required for Data Analyst roles.

• Design practical assignments and projects based on real-world data analytics and business problems, including clear assessment rubrics.

• Deliver engaging lessons following Hacktiv8 teaching standards and learning outcomes.

• Guide students in developing analytical thinking and translating business questions into data-driven insights and recommendations.

• Assist students in troubleshooting SQL queries, Python code, data analysis workflows, and visualization-related issues.

• Provide clear, constructive, and actionable feedback on student assignments and projects.

• Conduct 1-on-1 mentoring or evaluation sessions for students who require additional support.

• Provide supplementary materials and practical examples to strengthen student understanding.

• Support alumni with data analytics-related challenges when needed.

• Recommend relevant tools, technologies, and learning approaches to improve student learning effectiveness.

• Collaborate with instructors, SMEs, curriculum, academic operations, and other cross-functional teams to continuously improve curriculum quality and student experience.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a related data-focused role.

• Experience in fintech, telecommunications, banking, e-commerce, logistics, or other data-driven industries is a plus.

• Experience developing learning materials or teaching in bootcamps, universities, training institutions, or other educational settings is preferred.

• Strong proficiency in SQL, including joins, aggregation, subqueries, CTEs, and window functions.

• Hands-on experience using Python for data analysis, particularly pandas and NumPy.

• Strong understanding of data cleaning and preparation, including missing values, duplicates, outliers, transformation, and data validation.

• Strong understanding of Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA), including identifying patterns, trends, relationships, and anomalies.

• Strong understanding of statistics and analytical concepts, including descriptive statistics, probability fundamentals, correlation, hypothesis testing, and interpretation of analytical results.

• Experience with data visualization and dashboarding tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker Studio, Matplotlib, or Seaborn.

• Familiarity with data storytelling and communicating insights to technical and non-technical audiences.

• Understanding of data quality, data preparation, and basic ETL/data pipeline concepts.

• Familiarity with modern data tools, workflows, and industry best practices.

• Experience with Git/GitHub, command-line tools, and basic development workflows is preferred.

• Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure is a plus.

• Ability to design and deliver engaging lessons, hands-on exercises, case studies, and data analytics projects.

• Ability to manage multiple curriculum development, content creation, and teaching responsibilities.

• Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with instructors, SMEs, curriculum, academic operations, and cross-functional teams.

• Experience mentoring students or professionals in Data Analytics, SQL, Python, Business Intelligence, or related fields is preferred.
