Deskripsi pekerjaan In-House Linguist / Script Translator Fresto Post Production
In-House Linguist / Script Translator
Full-Time | On-Site | Flexible Working Hours
About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled, detail-oriented, and passionate In-House Linguist / Script Translator to join our localization team.
If you have a strong command of English, a passion for languages, and experience translating or adapting content for international streaming platforms, we'd love to hear from you!
This role is ideal for someone who understands that great translation goes beyond words — it requires accuracy, cultural sensitivity, natural dialogue, and the ability to preserve the original creative intent.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate, adapt, and review dubbing scripts and subtitles for films, television series, and other audiovisual content.
- Ensure translations are linguistically accurate, culturally appropriate, natural, and consistent with the original context.
- Adapt dialogue for dubbing while maintaining character intent, tone, and natural conversational flow.
- Perform linguistic quality control (LQC) on translated scripts and subtitles.
- Maintain consistency in terminology, character names, language style, and formatting across projects.
- Ensure all deliverables meet client-specific style guides, technical specifications, and quality standards, particularly for OTT platforms.
- Collaborate with project managers, translators, and production teams to resolve linguistic issues and meet project deadlines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (S1) or higher in Linguistics, English Literature, Translation, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in English is mandatory, with excellent comprehension, grammar, and writing skills.
- Proven experience in subtitle translation, dubbing script translation, or audiovisual localization, preferably for major OTT streaming platforms.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Strong understanding of linguistic nuances, cultural context, and natural dialogue adaptation.
- Able to work independently, manage multiple assignments, and consistently deliver high-quality results.
- Good physical health and ability to manage production deadlines and flexible working schedules.
- Willing to work full-time and fully on-site at our office. This is not a remote or hybrid position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience using the Originator localization platform is a significant advantage.
- Additional proficiency in Korean, Japanese, or Mandarin Chinese will be highly valued.
- Experience working on localization projects for international OTT platforms.
- Familiarity with subtitle conventions, dubbing adaptation, linguistic QC, and professional localization workflows.
- Experience working with client-specific terminology, style guides, and strict delivery requirements.
What We're Looking For
We value linguists who are meticulous, disciplined, and genuinely passionate about language and storytelling.
We're looking for someone who takes pride in getting every detail right — from the smallest grammatical nuance to the natural flow of dialogue — while maintaining the highest standards of translation accuracy and consistency.
If you believe that excellent localization should feel as natural and authentic as the original content, we'd love to have you on our team!
How to Apply
Please submit your updated CV highlighting your language proficiency, relevant translation experience, and any previous subtitle or dubbing localization projects.
Candidates with experience using Originator or working on OTT localization projects are strongly encouraged to apply.
