About the Role
Star Generation is looking for a talented and creative Illustrator to produce engaging, high-quality illustrations for educational books, activity books, worksheets, and learning materials. The ideal candidate has a strong artistic portfolio, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to transform educational concepts into visually appealing illustrations that enhance children's learning experiences.
This is a project-based freelance position with flexible working arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
Illustration
- Create original illustrations for educational books, storybooks, activity books, worksheets, and other learning materials.
- Develop illustrations that are engaging, age-appropriate, and aligned with the educational objectives of each project.
- Design characters, objects, scenes, diagrams, and educational visuals based on project requirements.
Creative Collaboration
- Work closely with the Marketing Team and project lead
- Interpret briefs and convert concepts into compelling visual designs.
- Participate in design discussions and provide creative input where appropriate.
Project Execution
- Deliver illustrations according to project timelines and specifications.
- Revise illustrations based on feedback from the editorial and curriculum teams.
- Ensure consistency in illustration style throughout the project.
Quality Assurance
- Maintain high artistic and technical quality.
- Prepare final artwork suitable for both print and digital publication.
- Ensure all illustrations are original and do not infringe upon third-party intellectual property.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Illustration, Visual Communication Design, Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Animation, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience illustrating books, children's books, educational materials, comics, or similar publications is preferred.
- Fresh graduates with exceptional portfolios are welcome to apply.
Proficiency in illustration software such as:
- Adobe Indesign
- Adobe Illustrator
- Adobe Photoshop
- Figma
- Procreate
- Clip Studio Paint
Strong understanding of composition, color theory, anatomy, perspective, and storytelling through illustrations.
Experience preparing artwork for print production is an advantage.
Portfolio
