Deskripsi pekerjaan Head Teacher I CAN READ Indonesia
As a Head Teacher, you will be part of the Indonesia Academic Department and work closely with the Professional Development Manager to ensure that I Can Read Indonesia delivers all ICR programmes to consistently high academic and teaching standards. You will play a key role in maintaining teaching quality, supporting teacher development, strengthening academic operations across centres, and ultimately contributing to student growth and retention.
Key Responsibilities
1. Maintain Academic Excellence Across Centres
- Plan, design, and deliver in-centre training and professional development programmes for ICR teachers based on needs identified through teaching performance monitoring.
- Conduct regular formal teaching observations and provide constructive written and verbal feedback to ensure teachers consistently deliver ICR programmes in line with prescribed pedagogy and standards.
- Conduct classroom walkthroughs to monitor programme implementation, teaching quality, and the effectiveness of current products.
- Regularly visit ICR centres in Jakarta and other cities to maintain strong relationships with centre teams, ensure alignment with academic standards and curriculum, and address academic or teaching-related challenges.
- Act as a key liaison between HQ and centres for the implementation of new curricula, programmes, academic initiatives, and teacher training.
- Identify areas for improvement in teaching practices and work with relevant stakeholders to implement appropriate solutions.
2. Support Centre Performance Through Academic Leadership
- Work closely with Centre Managers to provide academic support that contributes to centre performance, student satisfaction, and retention.
- Monitor and support the customer experience and academic processes, including the completion of class files and the implementation of Parent-Teacher Meetings.
- Review and analyze assessment conversion rates and provide guidance and support to assessors to improve effectiveness.
- Meet regularly with Centre Managers to review academic performance, centre targets, student numbers, and upcoming academic events or exhibitions.
- Support class scheduling when required, including planning new class openings and assisting with class merging or splitting to ensure effective and efficient scheduling.
- Provide academic and teaching support to centres, including assisting with class replacements when required.
3. Teacher Development & Academic Collaboration
- Conduct regular meetings with the Professional Development Manager to provide feedback and insights on curriculum implementation, teacher development, training needs, and potential teaching-related issues.
- Design and facilitate workshops, training sessions, and professional development activities based on identified needs and direction from the Professional Development Manager.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to curriculum, pedagogy, teaching quality, and academic operations.
- Support the development of a strong academic culture across I Can Read centres.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in English Education, Education, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in English teaching, preferably with experience in teacher training, academic coordination, or a similar leadership role.
- Strong English proficiency, preferably at CEFR C1 level or above.
- Strong understanding of English language teaching methodologies and classroom management.
- Demonstrated ability to provide constructive feedback, coach teachers, and support professional development.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
- Willingness to travel regularly to I Can Read centres in Jakarta and other cities as required.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
