Scope of Work: Head of Client Tax Services
A. Client Tax Delivery (Compliance Execution)
- Own delivery for client obligations
- Ensure compliance for clients
B. Tax Review, Quality Assurance, and Sign-Off
- Monitor Reconciliation Checklist
- Final reviewer/signatory
- Maintain audit trail: working papers, versions, approvals, client confirmations
C. Advisory & Problem-Solving (Client-Facing)
- Provide practical guidance and lead resolution
D. Client Management and Communication
- Ensure client understands responsibilities (data provision, invoice issuance
discipline, contract clarity).
- Set and protect scope boundaries: prevent uncontrolled “free consulting”
E. Tax Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Manage workload allocation, coaching, and performance
- Hiring input: competency requirements, interview evaluation, onboarding plan.
- Build a “Tax Knowledge Base” (common cases, SOPs, examples, checklists)
F. Process, Systems, and Continuous Improvement
- Design and maintain the Tax Operating System
G. Risk, Ethics, and Compliance Governance
- Enforce ethical standards: no fabricated documents, no aggressive positions
without support, no hidden arrangements.
- Escalate immediately if signs of suspicious transactions, unclear source of funds,
or potential money laundering indicators appear.
- Ensure engagement letters, scope definitions, and limitation clauses are applied
consistently.

Role Summary
We’re hiring a Head of Client Tax Services to lead our client tax function: delivering
compliant outcomes, maintaining strong review and documentation standards, managing
client expectations and scope, building a high-performing tax team, and enforcing ethical
governance.
Key Responsibilities
Client tax delivery and compliance execution
Own delivery for client tax obligations and ensure compliance across assigned
clients.
Tax review, quality assurance, and sign-off
Monitor reconciliation checklist, act as final reviewer/signatory, and maintain a clean
audit trail (working papers, versions, approvals, client confirmations).
Client-facing advisory and problem-solving
Provide practical guidance, lead issue resolution, and drive clear next steps with
clients.
Client management and scope control
Ensure clients understand responsibilities (data provision, invoice discipline, contract
clarity).
Set and protect scope boundaries to prevent uncontrolled “free consulting.”
Tax leadership and capability building
Manage workload allocation, coaching, and performance.
Support hiring (competency requirements, interview evaluation, onboarding plan).
Build a Tax Knowledge Base (common cases, SOPs, examples, checklists).
Process, systems, and continuous improvement
Design and maintain the Tax Operating System (standard workflows, controls,
templates, QA).
Risk, ethics, and compliance governance
Enforce ethical standards (no fabricated documents, no unsupported aggressive
positions, no hidden arrangements).
Escalate immediately if suspicious transactions / unclear source of funds / potential
money laundering indicators appear.
Ensure engagement letters, scope definitions, and limitation clauses are applied
consistently.
Requirements (recommended for a “Head” level role)
7+ years experience in Indonesian tax (in-house, consulting, or tax firm), with strong
hands-on compliance and review capability.
Proven experience as final reviewer/approver for client deliverables and managing
deadline-driven workflows.
People leadership experience (coaching, QA culture, performance management).
Strong working paper discipline and ability to build scalable SOPs/checklists.
Brevet A, B & C (strongly preferred); additional certifications are an advantage.
High integrity and comfort enforcing scope boundaries with clients.
