Child Aid Papua Foundation is looking for a passionate and committed Tourism Teacher to join our school community in Raja Ampat, Southwest Papua. This role is suitable for someone who enjoys teaching, working with teenagers, and supporting students from coastal and island communities. The teacher will teach tourism-related subjects at our Ecotourism Vocational School and also help students prepare for Tes Kemampuan Akademik 2026 (TKA). We are looking for someone who is not only strong in teaching, but also patient, creative, adaptable, and willing to live and serve in a remote island community.
Responsibilities
- Teach tourism and hospitality-related subjects to vocational school students.
- Prepare lesson plans, learning materials, worksheets, and assessments.
- Support students in understanding basic tourism, hospitality, guiding, customer service, and sustainable tourism.
- Help students prepare for Tes Kemampuan Akademik 2026 (TKA).
- Guide students in academic practice, study habits, and exam preparation.
- Create practical and contextual learning activities based on the environment and tourism potential of Raja Ampat.
- Support student projects, field learning, and school activities.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback.
- Work together with other teachers and school staff to support student development.
- Support the school’s mission in providing free, high-quality education for children in Raja Ampat.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Tourism, Hospitality, Education, or other related fields.
- Experience in teaching or working with teenagers is preferred.
- Good understanding of tourism, hospitality, or sustainable tourism.
- Able to support students in academic preparation, especially for TKA 2026.
- Good communication and classroom management skills.
- Creative, patient, responsible, and willing to learn.
- Basic English skill is an advantage.
- Willing to live and work in Sawinggrai Village, Raja Ampat.
- Passionate about education, community development, and empowering children from remote areas.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in vocational school teaching.
- Experience in tourism industry, hospitality, travel, guiding, or customer service.
- Familiar with project-based or practical learning methods.
- Interested in conservation, marine tourism, and community-based tourism.
- Comfortable working in a small team and adapting to local conditions.
