Chandra Kumala School is an inclusive school that provides an inclusive learning environment where students with diverse learning needs can learn and grow alongside their peers.
We are looking for a caring, patient, and supportive Special Education Teacher Assistant to assist students with special educational needs throughout their school day. The successful candidate will work closely with classroom teachers and the school team to support the student's academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual support and assistance to students with special educational needs during school hours.
- Accompany and supervise assigned students during classroom activities, breaks, and other school activities.
- Assist students in following classroom routines and participating in learning activities.
- Help students understand and complete tasks according to their individual abilities and needs.
- Support students in developing independence, social skills, communication, and positive behavior.
- Work collaboratively with classroom teachers, counselors, psychologists, and parents when necessary.
- Observe and communicate students' progress, challenges, and needs to the relevant school team.
- Help create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
- Provide appropriate assistance while encouraging students to become as independent as possible.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or a related field.
- Previous experience working with children, preferably children with special educational needs.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Patient, empathetic, responsible, and able to work well with children.
- Able to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary school team.
- Willing to learn and adapt to the individual needs of students.
