Job Title: GoLang Lead Engineer (Contract)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced GoLang Lead Engineer to lead the design, architecture, and development of highly scalable and reliable backend systems supporting payment processing and reconciliation workflows. This role requires a strong technical leader who can drive engineering excellence, mentor development teams, and ensure the delivery of robust distributed systems in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and architecture of high-performance backend systems using GoLang.
- Own end-to-end delivery of critical services within payments, reconciliation, and settlement domains.
- Define engineering standards, coding practices, and system design principles.
- Conduct architecture and code reviews to ensure scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Design, optimize, and maintain MySQL databases, schemas, and queries.
- Build and enhance distributed, fault-tolerant microservices architectures.
- Develop systems supporting:
- Payment processing pipelines
- Reconciliation workflows
- Settlement and ledger management
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure and efficient financial technology solutions.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance across development initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of experience in backend software engineering.
- Strong expertise in GoLang development.
- Deep understanding of:
- Concurrency, Goroutines, and Channels
- Memory management and performance optimization
- Strong experience with MySQL, including:
- Query optimization
- Indexing strategies
- Transaction management
- Proven experience designing and building microservices architectures.
- Hands-on experience with:
- RESTful APIs
- gRPC
- Distributed systems
- Experience in one or more of the following domains:
- Payment systems
- FinTech
- E-commerce platforms
- Reconciliation systems
- Financial services applications
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with reconciliation platforms or tools.
- Exposure to data engineering and ETL workflows.
- Knowledge of Python or scripting languages for automation.
- Experience with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services, including: RDS, S3, SQS/SNS, Lambda, ECS/EKS
