Job Description
- Conduct user research and requirement gathering with clients to understand business and geospatial needs for Web GIS and geospatial applications.
- Translate business and geospatial requirements into Product Requirements Documents (PRDs), user stories, and product specifications.
- Define and prioritize product features related to interactive maps, spatial data visualization, GIS dashboards, geospatial analysis, and GIS-based workflows.
- Prepare product and technical reports related to Web GIS product development activities.
- Deliver product presentations and demonstrations to clients regarding product features and development progress.
- Coordinate with the Partnership & Strategy team to identify and resolve issues arising during product development.
- Coordinate with the Technology team to define and prioritize product development plans.
- Monitor, evaluate, and document the development progress and performance of the Technology team.
- Coordinate with the Design team to define UI/UX requirements for Web GIS interfaces, GIS dashboards, and map-based applications.
- Monitor and evaluate the implementation of design requirements throughout the product development process.
- Coordinate with the Finance team regarding budget planning for product development.
- Submit manpower requests based on project requirements and resource needs.
- Monitor, evaluate, and document the performance and activities of project team members.
- Coordinate with the People & Culture team regarding team performance and resource-related matters.
- Monitor product development timelines, scope, and budgets to ensure alignment with agreed requirements.
- Provide regular product development progress reports to relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure the continuity and successful delivery of Web GIS and geospatial product development according to the agreed product roadmap and requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geomatics, Geography, Geodesy, Remote Sensing, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Product Management, Product Development, GIS, Web GIS, or a related field. Fresh graduates with a strong interest and academic background in GIS are welcome to apply.
- Strong understanding of GIS concepts, spatial data, spatial analysis, geospatial visualization, and GIS workflows.
- Understanding of Web GIS and geospatial applications.
- Familiarity with web mapping, GIS services/APIs, spatial databases, map layers, and common geospatial data formats.
- Understanding of software development processes such as SDLC, Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall.
- Understanding of product development processes, from requirement gathering and planning to development, testing, and deployment.
- Basic understanding of UI/UX principles, particularly for map-based interfaces and GIS dashboards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business and geospatial requirements into product solutions.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with clients, engineers, designers, and cross-functional teams.
- Adaptable, proactive, and willing to learn new technologies, geospatial domains, and product management practices.
