We are hiring on behalf of our client, a pioneering tech-based social enterprise startup in Singapore committed to sustainability and innovating surplus and waste management. The category-defining company uses technology to divert all food waste with maximum environmental and social impact.

Job Summary

This is a high-trust, high-ownership, high-agency remote role working directly alongside the Founder to run and improve the systems that keep the business operating, while supporting day-to-day operations and growth. This is a technical-first generalist role. You won't just use existing tools, you'll be expected to understand how the company's websites, portals, databases, and internal systems actually work, fix them when they break, and build new ones as the business needs them, often from nothing more than a high-level, one-line business goal. We are looking for someone with genuine technical capability who can take an ambiguous problem and independently design, build, and ship a working solution, without waiting for detailed instructions and without needing a technical manager to guide them. You must be comfortable owning the company's entire digital backbone. Alongside this, the role carries real business responsibility: client and partner communication, operations, light finance tracking, and marketing support. You'll wear multiple hats, but technical self-sufficiency is the non-negotiable core. There is zero tolerance for micromanagement here. You see what needs to be done, and you do it before being asked. When something breaks, you fix it. When you don't know how, you figure it out.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Systems Ownership (core)

  • Independently build, deploy, and maintain internal tools, websites, portals, and databases that support the business.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across the company's digital systems, including access, hosting, deployment, and integration problems, often on systems you did not originally build.
  • Take broad, non-technical business goals and translate them into working technical solutions, anticipating requirements like security, access control, identity verification, and data integrity without being told.
  • Ensure all systems are documented, maintainable, and owned by the company, not dependent on any single individual.
  • Use AI tools to accelerate development, automate repetitive work, and multiply your own output.

2. Operations and Systems

  • Provide operational support to the client's Singapore core team.
  • Coordinate projects across clients, partners, volunteers, and stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Continuously improve operational processes, internal tools, and workflows.
  • Solve day-to-day operational problems and keep priorities moving efficiently.

3. Client and Partner Management

  • Manage client and partner accounts, onboarding, relationships, and regular check-ins.
  • Track and follow up with prospects and partners, including outreach, scheduling, and note-taking.
  • Prepare and send proposals and commercial agreements with professional follow-up.
  • Handle day-to-day communications with strong written and spoken English.

4. Finance Administration

  • Track invoices, incoming and outgoing payments.
  • Maintain simple, accurate financial records.
  • Coordinate with the Founder on financial follow-ups.

5. Growth, Marketing, and Founder Support

  • Maintain a coherent brand presence across the website and social platforms.
  • Create and schedule content, using AI tools to accelerate output.
  • Handle general admin: presentations, calendar, lead tracking, grants/awards, documentation.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Technical background (essential): A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or a related technical field, OR demonstrable hands-on experience building and maintaining real digital systems (websites, web apps, databases, internal tools). If your degree is non-technical, you must show equivalent self-taught, applied technical skill, for example through coursework, projects, or systems you've personally built and shipped.
  • Digital fluency (essential): You thoroughly understand how systems and digital architectures connect and work together, hosting, deployment, authentication, databases, integrations, not just how to use off-the-shelf software. You can diagnose and fix problems on systems you didn't build.
  • Independent problem-solving (essential): You can take a vague, high-level business goal and figure out the technical path yourself. You don't need the problem pre-defined or the solution spelled out.
  • AI fluency: Proven use of AI tools to automate tasks, speed up workflows, and unlock solutions across the business.
  • Experience: 1 to 3 years, ideally in a startup, scale-up, or other high-performance environment. A proven startup mindset and comfort wearing multiple hats is required.
  • Language: Professional written and spoken English is mandatory.
  • Mindset and values alignment: Highly organized, execution-driven, detail-oriented, and a proactive problem solver with sound judgement who welcomes ownership and direct accountability. Able to prioritise in fast-moving environments with shifting demands. Strong people skills with the ability to build trust and manage stakeholders. Strong business judgement and communication skills. Ambitious, eager to grow alongside a scaling company. Be ready to handle anything thrown at you, from strategic projects to operational firefighting. Think in outcomes, not tasks - you’re not done when the work is submitted, you’re done when it works. You think like an owner, not a hire. When something is broken, you fix it. When you do not know how, you figure it out. You do not wait for permission. You do not say “that is not my job”.
