COMPANY BACKGROUND
Kosmode Health Singapore Pte Ltd, a National University of Singapore start-up, is a Singapore-based Holding company with a wholly-owned subsidiary in Suzhou, China.
KosmodeHealth aims to expand access to health from nature as Asia’s trusted business enabler, to companies in the Agrifood and Biomedical industry, to resolve the following issues:
1. Agrifood industry:
i. High cost of plant extractions limiting mass-market access to quality-assured plant health ingredients.
ii. High wastage of food processing side-stream (such as spent barley after beer brewery, spent corn, spent toufu etc).
2. Biomedical Industry:
iii. High cost and issues of animal protein scaffold in 3D cell culture.
iv. Limited range and standardized scaffolds being unable to meet the varied growth needs of diverse cell types.
KosmodeHealth’s triple technology platform consists of:
⦁ Better, sustainable, halal certifiable plant extraction technology
⦁ Method of formulating Plant Protein Composite (PPCTM) Bio-ink
⦁ Precise, controllable 3D bioprinting technology.
The plant extraction expertise has been utilised to extract bioactive from botanical & also to reclaim bioactive from food processing by-products. KosmodeHealth has formulated a Starchless Protein Fibre noodles from nutrients reclaimed from spent barley grains – a by-product of beer and malt production.
Protein extracted from by-products can also be formulated into PPCTM Bio-ink with the 2nd technology and 3D printed into PPCTM scaffold with the 3rd technology.
