Job Summary
The Finance Officer is responsible for managing the company’s day-to-day financial and accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial records, timely payments and collections, proper cash flow management, and compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounts Payable
Process and verify supplier invoices and payment requests.
Ensure invoices are properly approved and recorded.
Prepare payment schedules and monitor outstanding payables.
Maintain accurate supplier records.
2. Accounts Receivable
Monitor customer receivables and outstanding invoices.
Follow up on overdue payments.
Reconcile customer accounts and incoming payments.
Prepare receivable reports when required.
3. Daily Financial Operations
Record daily sales, expenses, cash transactions, and bank transactions.
Reconcile cash registers, bank accounts, and payment platforms.
Monitor daily cash flow and identify discrepancies.
Maintain accurate and organized financial documentation.
4. Reporting
Prepare monthly financial reports and management summaries.
Assist in preparing Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow reports.
Provide financial data and analysis to management.
Track actual performance against budgets and forecasts.
5. Budget & Cost Control
Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts.
Monitor operating expenses and identify unnecessary or excessive spending.
Track departmental and operational costs.
Assist management with cost-control initiatives.
6. Tax & Compliance
Assist with preparation of tax-related documents and reports.
Ensure financial transactions are properly documented.
Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and tax consultants when required.
Maintain compliance with applicable accounting and tax regulations.
7. Inventory & Cost Monitoring
Monitor inventory-related financial records.
Assist with stock reconciliation and inventory valuation.
Track Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and gross margins.
Investigate discrepancies between physical stock and financial records.
8. Internal Controls
Ensure financial transactions follow company approval procedures.
Maintain proper documentation and filing systems.
Identify financial discrepancies, errors, or potential risks.
Support implementation of stronger financial controls.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
2–4 years of experience in finance or accounting.
Experience in retail, F&B, hospitality, or multi-outlet operations is an advantage.
Good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
Experience with accounting software is preferred.
